Alma Avalle is Bon Appétit’s digital operations associate—a fancy word for web producer—as well as a reporter and journalist covering drinks, food science, and all things new and nerdy for our website and magazine. Raised in New England, Bolivia, and Guatemala, she's currently based in Brooklyn, where she's also a writer, musician, and audio producer whose many projects you can follow on Twitter. Prior to working at BA, Alma lectured on film and philosophy at Tufts University and co-taught the course Film, Existentialism, and the Search for Meaning through the Tufts Experimental College. Alma is a member of the Trans Journalists Association.
